Lumi
A macOS menu-bar utility for global keyboard shortcuts, a Caps Lock Hyper key, leader menus, text snippets and Action Flows.
Lumi lives in the menu bar. It has no Dock icon and no window of its own until you open one — the menu bar icon is the way in.
What it does
Global shortcuts
Bind any combination to launching or focusing an app, toggling one, opening a URL, running a command, sending a keystroke, arranging or cycling windows, pressing a media key, or a system command.
Hyper key
Hold Caps Lock to stamp a configurable modifier set — Control, Shift, Command, Option — onto whatever you press next.
Leader menus
One combination opens a cheatsheet, then one bare key per tier picks from it. Twelve actions behind one combination, and only the first key to learn.
Snippets
Type vn, get Vietnam — on the following space or the moment the trigger
is finished, per snippet, and scoped to the applications you choose.
Dynamic variables
A replacement, an alert or a URL can hold {{$date}}, the clipboard or
the current selection, filled in fresh every time it fires.
Action Flows
A graph of nodes that runs from a trigger to an end, built by dragging. One shortcut that does four things in order, with a condition in the middle.
Requirements
macOS 11 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel — the download is a universal binary, so there is one disk image for both.
The Hyper key, Send Keystroke, media control and snippets need the Accessibility permission. Log out, Restart and Shut down need a second, separate grant. Both are covered in Permissions.
